Most days I don’t like to get out of bed. I don’t mind waking up (and often wake up WAY early, before my alarm). It’s not that I want to go back to sleep, though. I never use the snooze button.
More like, I just don’t want to get out of bed.
In bed, I have a down duvet, and an iPhone, and usually at least one cat. It’s dark, and I have Internet access, and I can stay horizontal.
Out of bed, I need to get vertical. It’s cold, and I’m left with my own thoughts.
Lately, I’ve been pushing past the flinch, and getting up quickly. It’s been working for me. I win when I get more time to do yoga and meditate.
Do you flinch at the thought of getting out of bed in the morning? Do you want to avoid the world?
How would your life be different if you got up quickly and easily? What if (crazy thought, perhaps) you were actually EXCITED to get out of bed in the morning? What if being awake and part of the world was so incredibly amazing, you just couldn’t wait to start your day?
I want to believe I can find that feeling. And so can you.
