burned pot

I burned my supper yesterday. Here’s the whole story. Home is a place where I seek comfort.

The flip side of comfort (as evidenced by the burnt pot, above) is that sometimes we take it too far. I love food, and I love to cook. I make all my meals from scratch, and I love the soft, slightly carmelized flavour of food that’s been simmered or roasted for a long time over low heat. Leave it five minutes too long, however… and what you get is burnt.

What makes you feel comfortable? Is it possible to have too much comfort? How do you know when enough is… enough?
